The showbiz industry lost another veteran as Lolit Solis passed away at the age of 78.
Lolit's daughter Sneezy confirmed the news with GMA News Online. The grieving family revealed the veteran host passed away due to a heart attack and died at the hospital.
On Facebook, Sneezy also shared a picture of her and her mom, where netizens quickly sent their condolences to the family in the comment section.
On social media, one of Lolit's celebrity friends Niño Muhlach and Jolo Revilla, paid tribute to the writer/manager.
Niño simply wrote "Paalam Nanay Lolit Solis," while Jolo wrote, "Rest in Peace Nanay Lolit Solis. Salamat sa lahat ng pagmamahal at pagsuporta mo sa aming buong pamilya lalo na kay papa. Salamat sa pagaalaga mo sa akin noong ikaw ay tumayo bilang aking manager noong ako ay artista pa. Lubos po kami nag dadalamhati sa iyong pagkawala. We will miss you nanay, mahal na mahal ka namin.
In August 2022, entertainment columnist Lolit Solis revealed that she needed to undergo lifetime dialysis. Despite her health condition, she continued writing regularly on Instagram.
In 2023, she suffered a mild stroke following one of her dialysis sessions.
By December 2024, the veteran host officially retired from posting online to focus on enjoying her private life.
"Mentally tired na ako talaga at parang ayaw ko na talaga muna sagarin ang utak ko. No need to prove anything or be transparent on how I feel," she said.
"Para ngang kung minsan sawsawera pa ang dating ko. Basta I feel completely happy this Christmas."
Lolit Solis is famous for being one of showbiz's trusted columnists.
She was also a talk show host in programs such as the 1995-2015 GMA showbiz show Startalk.
When the internet era began, the veteran personality embraced social media and continued writing her columns online.
