With the whole world gradually finding ways to escape the lockdown blues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the past two years, big events and huge crowds are returning too, but with an abundance of caution.
And for the Philippines, one of the annual traditions terribly missed by Pinoys is the grandiose Flores de Mayo festival-- particularly the Santacruzan.
According to seasite.niu.edu, Santacruzan is a religious-historical beauty pageant held in many cities, towns, and even small villages throughout the Philippines during the month of May.
Based on available records, the first Santacruzan in the country was held in Malolos, Bulacan.
