Quezon City vice mayor Gian Sotto and his wife Joy Woolbright were among the thousands of parents who welcomed a baby amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Gian is the second youngest child and only son of 'Eat Bulaga' pioneer and Senate president Tito Sotto and veteran movie star Helen Gamboa.
Unlike Mommy Joy's five previous pregnancies, this one was a bit more complicated. Aside from making sure that the childbirth to Domiku Yosef was free of any complications, she also had to take extra precautions to protect herself from contracting the novel coronavirus.
But all her sacrifices and anxiety during her nine months of pregnancy were completely washed away, when she successfully gave birth to a healthy Baby Domiku on September 12, 2020.
On Instagram, Joy explained why they chose this name for their sixth baby, “My Mom and Dad chose a Basque name, just like my Kuya Edrigu. The meaning of my name is, Domiku - belonging to the Lord, and Yosef - God will add and increase. My Mommy and Daddy said, I am one of their greatest blessings from God because HE added another son to our family and also, I will forever live my life like the Lord because I belong to HIM!”
