Actress Janella Salvador and boyfriend Markus Paterson introduced their first child, Jude Trevor Paterson, to the public via social media in January 2021, ending months of speculation on Janella's pregnancy status.
Though the two had been quiet about their relationship, they revealed they were ready to show their newborn baby to everyone. Janella and Markus showed their journey to parenthood in a vlog called "Hey, Jude," which was uploaded on their YouTube channel.
The video features highlights of Janella's pregnancy--from her sonograms, maternity photoshoot, pre-natal preparations and exercises, to Janella flying to the United Kingdom and eventually giving birth on October 20, 2020.
On the video, Janella narrated her message for her newborn son. “If I'm going to be honest, I was quite nervous about this day because I know how harsh this world can be. If your dad and I can have you all to ourselves forever in our quiet world, we would, but that would be too selfish,” she said.
Similarly, Markus also showed his joy in becoming a new dad in his message for Baby Jude. "To my son, my firstborn, my darling boy. There aren't enough words to express how much love I have for you. The minute I saw you I knew I would do anything in this world to protect you and I can't wait to introduce you to the world," Markus said in the video.
The vlog also showed greetings for Baby Jude from the couple's showbiz friends. Janella and Markus first admitted that they are in a relationship back in September 2020 through social media.
After the couple spent time together in the United Kingdom with their families and Baby Jude for a few months, they flew back to Manila in February 2021.
