Visual designer and 3D artist Carlos Antón Varó is a big fan of rap music and rappers.
It comes then as no surprise that the Madrid, Spain-based artist thought of rappers as subjects for one of his latest projects.
That project, aptly called Rappers, features popular American rappers presented in 3D form
Carlos's subjects are Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Drake, Mac Miller (with halo), Jay-Z, and J. Cole.
“The 3D renderings of these iconic rappers are both bold and highly stylized. Closeups on Varó's Instagram show the rendering of shirts, brand logos, and hair, which are detailed and more realistic while the skin is kept play-doh smooth,” wrote Yaroslava Bondar for the Kulture Hub
“The result is cartoon-like characterizations that could star in a hip-hop-version of Wallace and Gromit.”
Carlos said about his works, “All these eight are absolute goats [greatest of all time] for me, but I think the one the most I listened [to] recently is between Cole and Mac.”
The process of 3D rendering celebrities has become a popular art form among visual artists.
By definition, 3D rendering is the process of turning 3D models into 2D images using computer graphics software.
It is used in many industries such as architecture, product design, and scientific research.
Advancement in the software being used has resulted in imageries that looks insanely realistic.
