Luis Manzano enjoys fatherhood with Baby Peanut

Luis Manzano can now relate to his friends who are now enjoying their fatherhood.
Luis and his wife, Jessy Mendiola, welcomed their daughter named Isabella Rose, whom they fondly call "Peanut," on December 28, 2022 via cesarean section.
"Totoo pala yung excited kang umuwi," said first-time dad Luis in an interview after the press conference of his newerst game show "Tamang Hinala" on Wednesday, August 30.
"Grabe yung feeling na yun, na kating-kati ka umuwi. 'Tapos, kapag kunwari may kaunting lungkot, pag-uwi ko, tulog na si Peanut. Yung gusto ko siyang laruin… Katulad kahapon, pag-uwi ko, parang 10 minutes [na laro] kasi pinapatulog na.
"Sobrang saya ko even just for 10 minutes nayakap ko siya nang gising. Then again, be a realist… dati idealist ako pero ngayon realist na. You know, a man has to do what a man has to do."
Luis said he tries to be a hands-on dad as much as possible.
"Pero may mga forte kasi na mas komportable talaga ang isang nanay. Pero I make sure na as much as possible, every milestone ni Peanut I'll be there.
"Kaya nakakalungkot, yung unang roll ni Peanut at saka unang crawl niya na solid sa phone ko lang nakita. Hindi ko nakita [sa personal]. So, I'm hoping to see more milestones of her."
According to Luis, different brand have been sending inquiries about Peanut as early as now. While he and Jessy are open for their daughter to do endorsements in the future, the actor-TV host said it would still be up to Peanut if she wants to follow in their footsteps in showbiz.
He reasoned, "I'll let her try anything and everything. Kung gusto niyang mag-artista agad, okay lang sa akin. Pero the moment she says na, 'Papa, ayaw ko na or gusto ko na mag-rest,' 'Go.'
"Hindi ko siya ipe-pressure to do anything. But at least masubukan niya para at least, at the end of the day, masabi niya na, 'I tried it, but it wasn't for me.'"
Does he see himself as a stage dad?
Luis replied, "Alam n'yo, I'll cross the bridge when I get there. Pero feeling ko nga magiging strict na stage dad ako. Kunwari, ang endorsement ay si Jessy at si Peanut lang, pupunta pa rin ako para magbantay."
Meanwhile, Luis was also asked if he and Jessy already have plan to have another baby.
He answered, "Pahinga muna si Jessy. Pahinga muna, pero pinag-uusapan na namin. Kumbaga, may kaunting timetable naman kaming naka-ready kapag dumating na.
"We wanna enjoy Peanut muna. I mean, for some families gusto nila tuluy-tuloy na and then, rest. Yung iba, they prefer intervals in between.
"Pero sa akin, whenever Jessy's ready. Hindi naman kasi ako ang magdadala ng nine months, e. Kumbaga, siya talaga ang magdadala. So, whenever she's ready then, mas mag-e-effort na kami."
