Manager ni Hidlyn Diaz na si Noel Ferrer, muling nagsalita tungkol sa isyu ng 'free fuel for life'

Muling nilinaw ni Noel Ferrer, ang manager ng Olympian na si Hidilyn Diaz, ang issue tungkol sa “lifetime fuel” incentive pagkatapos maglabas ng pahayag ang sangkot na petroleum company tungkol ditto.
Sa isang post sa kanyang Facebook account, ipinaliwanag ni Noel na walang “conditions or restrictions” na sinabi sa kanila noong unang inilapit ng Phoenix Petroleum ang “free fuel for life” incentive sa kampo nila.
Dahil dito, nagulat sila sa diumano'y biglaang pagdagdag ng “conditions relating to brand alignment.” Wala umanong condition na pinagbabawalan si Hidilyn na makipag-partner sa ibang petroleum companies.
"It was only around two years later that conditions relating to brand alignment were raised. This came as a surprise to us, as such conditions were not part of the original understanding when the reward was publicly announced and initially provided. There was also no agreement or condition communicated that would prevent Hidilyn from entering into partnerships with other petroleum companies.
Ayon kay Noel, hindi daw fair na magdagdag ng kondisyon sa isang offer na iprinisenta sa publiko bilang libre.
"For this reason, it is difficult for us to understand how circumstances that arose later can now be attributed to Hidilyn. It seems unfair for conditions to be introduced after the fact when the original gesture was presented to the public as purely gratuitous."
Nanindigan din si Noel na ang kanyang naunang statement ay “entirely factual and based on the circumstances as they occurred.”
Nilinaw din niya, "Any public reaction that followed is not something Hidilyn or her team sought, and it certainly was not intended to create hostility toward any party."
Sa kabila ng mga pangyayari, sinabi ni Noel tungkol sa kanyang talent, "Hidilyn remains grateful for the support she has received over the years. Phoenix Petroleum decided not to continue the fuel benefit and we respect their decision."
Bilang pagtatapos, sinabi ni Noel na ang pagkapanalo ni Hidilyn ng unang Olympic gold ng Pilipinas ay ginawa niya para sa mga Pilipino at sa Pilipinas, at hindi para sa ano mang mga premyo o incentive.

Sa pahayag na inilabas ng Phoenix Petroleum, sinabi nila na ang kampo ni Hidilyn ang unang tumigil sa pag-communicate sa kanila, dahil na rin sa pagpasok sa kontrata ni Hidilyn sa isa pang petroleum company.
Nagtataka din sila sa pag-ungkat sa isyu sa gitna ng krisis sa petrolyo, pati na rin sa hindi paglapit sa kanila ng kampo ni Hidilyn para linawin ang isyu.

Naglabas ng statement ang Phoenix Petroleum dahil sa post ni Noel Ferrer sa kanyang Facebook page kung saan ibinahagi niya na dalawang taon ng libreng gas lamang ang natanggap ni Hidlyn mula sa Phoenix Petroleum.
“Hidilyn told me that she received fuel support for the first two years after her win. Thanks, but to be accurate, it wasn't for a lifetime. I'm not sure whose lifetime the people had in mind,” saad niya. “Sana matuto tayong bigyan ng importansya hindi lang ang mga salita at pangakong binitiwan, kundi ang pagpapahalaga sa mga atletang naghatid ng karangalan sa bansa.”
