Maricar Reyes shares realizations after marking 10th wedding anniv with Richard Poon

Actress-entrepreneur Maricar Reyes and crooner Richard Poon celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary last week.
The couple tied the knot on June 9, 2013 at The Bellevue Manila in Alabang, Muntinlupa. According to reports, Maricar and Richard began dating in 2010.
Both Maricar and Richard took to Instagram to share some highlights of their intimate celebration, while the former also shared her thoughts after reaching this milestone.
She wrote in the captions, “10 years ago today, June 9 2013, we got married. The memory of it all still brings a smile to our faces.
“But rewind muna to 2014, a year after we got married, a prominent man told Richard about his love story. This prominent man also had a fairytale wedding to the woman of his dreams…
“But 10 years later, they separated. Nobody had bad intentions, they were not evil people, they just could not work out their differences.”
Maricar stressed that this story is etched on their minds and is a constant reminder that marriage is a work in progress.
She explained, “We always keep this story in the back of our minds. Para hindi kami makampante na “strong” kami, lalo na when people say we're a “power couple.”
“If we are not careful, our relationship can be torn apart at any time.
"Every day is full of little choices that will break or strengthen our marriage. Bibitaw ba kami? Gaganti para “matuto” yung kabila? Will we give up on the other person kung hindi nya ma-overcome yung struggles nya?
“Or will we work with each other as a team?”
Before ending her post, Maricar added that she and Richard will become even stronger in the next 10 years with the help of their godparents. The mestiza beauty noted, “We're grateful that our everyday life choices until this point, got us to 10 years. Whew!
“Hopefully, with the help of our beloved mentors, Ninongs & Ninangs, we will become even stronger in the next 10 years ahead.”
In the comments section, several celebrities congratulated them on their 10th anniversary including 'Chika Minute' anchor Iya Villania and former MYX VJ Nikki Gil.
