Mariel Padilla sorry over 'gluta drip' senate photo, says it's vitamin C

Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla went viral online for her social media photo taken inside the Senate. In her now deleted Instagram photo, Mariel was seen with an intravenous (IV) drip in the Senate office with her husband, Senator Robin Padilla behind her.
The actress and TV host received backlash from netizens and Sen. Nancy Binay for her post, leading Mariel to share a public explanation, apologizing for the incident.

On her Instagram Story from February 25, Mariel wrote, "I was at the Senate to show support for my husband's bill."
She explained, "To clarify, I received a Vitamin C Drip, not Glutathione, under the medical supervision of a professional nurse. Having mentioned this, my intent was just to inspire others that even amidst various activities, or wherever they are, they can still prioritize their health by taking vitamins."
"It was never my intention to malign nor undermine the integrity and dignity of the Senate. I want to extend my sincerest apologies to all concerned, including the members and staff of the Senate and the public. We uphold the Senate's dignity and integrity. Salamat," Mariel wrote.
Back in November 2023, Mariel also became a hot topic online for traveling to Hong Kong Disneyland with 47 of her family members and relatives.
