Marvin Agustin calls the late Rico Yan a '90s icon

Restaurateur and versatile actor Marvin Agustin paid tribute to his good friend and former matinee idol Rico Yan on his birthday last Saturday, March 14.

Marvin reposted a couple of throwback photos with the popular TV and movie actor on his Instagram Story and even described Rico as a '90s icon.

He wrote in one of his posts, “Happy Birthday in heaven, Rico. '90s icon. Whattamen brothers forever.”

Rico passed away on March 29, 2002, while on vacation at Dos Palmas Resort in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. He was 27 years old at the time of his death and was at the peak of his career.

According to medical reports, he died of cardiac arrest due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis.
