Meet Sophia: The rising star of P-pop girl group KAIA

Sophia Alexandra Mercado, known as Sophia, is a member of the P-pop girl group KAIA.
As the vocalist and main dancer of the five-member girl group, Sophia is ready to dazzle even brighter on national TV as one of the P-pop dance stars in GMA's reality dance competition Stars on the Floor 2026.
Just like her K-pop idol, Ryujin from ITZY, she strives to be one of the best main dancers, driven by her competitive spirit.
Sophia also joined the dance crew VPEEZ and has already competed internationally.
Representing KAIA, derived from the Cebuano word kinaiya, meaning a person's inner character or individuality, and reminiscent of the Filipino word kaya, which signifies the ability to overcome challenges, Sophia is ready to prove herself in Stars on the Floor 2026, premiering February 15 on GMA.
