Meryl Streep honors LGBT+ community in the fashion industry

Another "slay" moment unfolds for content creator Mimiyuuuh as she meets Hollywood icons Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.
In an exclusive interview held in Japan, Mimiyuuuh sat down with the two actresses to discuss the upcoming sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2. Meryl and Anne were immediately impressed by the internet star's look: a striking red dress inspired by the film's fictional designer James Holt, paired with her signature “clever” shoes.
Seamlessly tying her fashion moment into the conversation, Mimiyuuuh asked the actresses for their thoughts on the LGBTQ+ community's strong support for both the original film and its sequel.
“There would be no fashion in the world without the LGBTQ+ community,” Meryl said. “Nothing but gratitude—and worry about how we're judged!” she added, drawing laughter from the room.
Anne echoed the sentiment, expressing deep appreciation for the community's loyalty. “I don't know if we would have a sequel without the support of the LGBTQ+ community. They embraced this film so much; they kept it alive. We owe them so much,” she said.
Meanwhile, Mimiyuuuh took to social media to share her gratitude for the once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“PAKIKUROT AKO PLS 🥹 Forever grateful for this one-of-a-kind experience! Hindi pa rin po ako makapaniwala that I got the chance to meet these icons. Huhu! SHE REALLY IS A LUCKY STAR! ⭐” she wrote.
Fans and fellow celebrities quickly flooded the comments, celebrating the milestone. Aside from her sit-down interview, Mimiyuuuh also joined It's Showtime host Anne Curtis at the event. The stylish duo graced the red carpet in head-turning ensembles.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is slated for release on April 29, 2026, featuring the return of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci.
Meanwhile, here are more celebrities who didn't let their privilege, preference, and religion stop them from fighting for inclusivity, love, and equality for our sisters and brothers from the LGBTQIA+ community. Check them out in this gallery.
