Mikoy Morales stars in new BL vertical series via 'Got My Eyes on You'; shares experience of working with Esteban Mara

Sparkle actor Mikoy Morales flexes his versatility and dabbles in the world of Boys Love (BL) via the new vertical series 'Got My Eyes on You.'
The 2023 Cinemalaya Best Actor portrays the role of resort operations manager Drew, while Shawn, the mysterious guest manager, is portrayed by newcomer Esteban Mara. The enemies-turned-lovers tension between Drew and Shawn will definitely captivate online viewers.
At the official press launch held at the Rampa Club on September 16, Mikoy talked about working with Esteban in the TikTok romcom series.
“Nag-meet dun sa look test. Doon pa lang sa look test na meron na kami sinubukan na eksena and from the get go, he's very professional. He's very secured sa kaniyang pagkatao. So, it was easy, easy, easy to work with him. Kasi, walang ilangan. Walang malisya.”
Also part of this exciting BL online project are Hannah Lee, Victor Sy, Ady Cotoco, and Dawin Yu.
Mikoy has done several TV series and movies in the past. Currently, he is part of the award-winning sitcom Pepito Manaloto starring Michael V. and Manilyn Reynes.
He also showcased his talents in the primetime soap Pulang Araw, Lolong, and the pambansang comedy show Bubble Gang.
Is there a difference in terms of storytelling in doing a vertical series compared to the mainstream project you have already done?
“I think storytelling wise medyo may similarities din sa mga teleserye. Pero 'pag ginagawa naman namin siya, hindi rin namin alam kung hanggang saan 'yung edit. Like minsan it's like one whole long scene tapos, two episodes na pala 'yun. So, medyo yun, mas compressed siya into scenes na hindi naman mabilisan, pero mas mabilis 'yung pangyayari.”
