Miss Universe 2020: Mexico's Andrea Meza and her road to the crown

Mexicana Universal 2020 Andrea Meza basks in glory as she is crowned Miss Universe 2020 on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Andrea, who hails from Chihuahua City in Mexico, succeeded South Africa's Zozibini Tunzi after winning the votes of judges and impressing audiences across the globe.
During the highly anticipated Q&A, the newly minted beauty queen was asked, “If you were the leader of your country, how would you have handled the COVID-19 pandemic?”
Her confident response was, “I believe there is no perfect way to handle this hard situation such as COVID-19, but I believe what I would have done is to create the lockdown even before everything was that big, because we lost so many lives and we cannot afford that. We have to take care of our people, that's why I would've taken care of them since the beginning.”
Andrea besting 73 other candidates did not come as an easy feat as this recent victory comes with years of hard work, dedication, and experience which dates back to 2016.
