Nadia Montenegro's daughter Sophia makes acting debut

Nadia Montenegro proudly introduced her youngest daughter, Sophia, during the preview screening of Bad Boy 3 on June 4.
The newcomer actress is part of the film headlined by Senator Robin Padilla, who, according to Nadia, encouraged Sophia to join the project.
“Actually, hindi ko siya kinonvince, si Robin talaga ang may idea. Siya raw ang manager,” Nadia said during the talkback session held after the movie screening.
She continued, “Kung nakita n'yo yung eksena ng family namin ni Dennis [Padilla], gusto talaga ni Robin ay yung mga anak ko talaga ang anak namin, pati yaya ko, yaya ko [sa totoong buhay]. Kumbaga, para maging madali yung eksena ng family, totoong-totoo. Si Robin ang may idea ng lahat ng 'yan, kami lang ang nag-execute.”
Aside from Sophia, her older sisters Yna and Yanna, as well as Nadia's grandchildren, also appeared in the film.
In a separate interview, Nadia shared that she initially hesitated to allow Sophia to take part in the movie.
However, she later thought, “It was a good training ground, e.”
After seeing her daughter on the big screen, Nadia said, “Nakakaaliw. Kasi, siyempre, noong shooting namin, hindi ganun kasi bising-busy kami. But yung kinalabasan talaga, nakakatuwa.”
For her part, Sophia said she enjoyed her first experience as an actress.
“Hindi ako nailang, more like I want more,” the newbie actress said with a smile.
“Kung makikita n'yo, wala akong masyadong sinabi. Pero yung time na yun, very memorable siya kasi sila Tito Joko [Diaz], Tito Dennis [Padilla], yung sisters ko nandun. Parang normal day lang siya na may camera lang.”
Sophia is the daughter of Nadia with actor Baron Geisler.

Having spent many years in show business, Nadia said she passed on the lessons she learned from her late manager, Douglas Quijano, to her children.
“Lagi kong sinasabi sa kanila, whenever you come to the set, always introduce yourself first to everyone—to the director, to the crew and staff. And be kind lang and be yourself kasi in this industry, ang hirap na magpaka-perfect ka nang hindi ka naman perfect kahit anong mangyari.
“Lalo na sa generation ngayon, sa culture ngayon, lalo na sa social media ngayon, ang judgment ngayon, ibang klase. Kaya sabi ko, para hindi ka na mahirapan, just be yourself. At saka, confidence and passion. If you really want something, go for it.”
