Pokwang issues apology following brother's public incident

Host and comedienne Pokwang apologized publicly after a viral video showed her younger brother involved in a street altercation with a man pushing a cart in Antipolo City.
The altercation caught on video reportedly started in Barangay San Roque Tulay when a cart pusher who had a child with him supposedly scratched a white pickup. Inflamed by the incident, the pickup's driver allegedly bolted out of his vehicle and started slapping the man until a bystander stepped in and broke up the fight.
While the video of the incident quickly circulated online, the identity of Pokwang's brother was not confirmed until she publicly released her statement.
On Tuesday, December 16, she released a video and expressed her deep regret over her sibling's actions, emphasizing that his behavior does not reflect her own values.
Nag-viral siya,” Pokwang said.
Pokwang extended her apology to the father, his child, and the public regarding her brother's actions.
Pokwang, however, also took issue with those who escalated the situation by posting the faces of her family members and relatives involved in the street incident.
She warned these people that these acts might be classified as cyberbullying and cyberlibel.
Pokwang concluded her statement by asserting that she is not tolerating her brother's actions and reminding the public to respect her family and be careful with their social media posts: “Hindi po ako kumakampi sa kapatid ko pero sana nag-iingat po kayo sa mga posts ninyo, mga comments ninyo.”
The Land Transportation Office has taken action against Pokwang's brother, suspending his license for 90 days and issuing a show cause order.
