Two years after announcing her separation, former actress Queenie Padilla has officially confirmed her divorce from her ex-husband, Usman Rashid Mir.

In a Facebook post on June 30, Queenie shared that she had already closed that chapter of her life and had since found peace.

"Alhamdulillah. I've reached a place in my life where my peace is absolute and my path is clear," she wrote.

"My silence was never confusion or weakness, it was a conscious choice to protect the life I've built since closing that chapter. I closed that chapter exactly 2 years ago."

Queenie revealed that she has been divorced since last year, adding that the dissolution of her marriage was through faskh and not talaq.

Under Presidential Decree No. 1083, or the Code of Muslim Personal Laws, faskh is a type of divorce that may be granted upon the wife's petition on specific legal grounds, such as neglect or failure to fulfill marital obligations. Meanwhile, talaq refers to a form of divorce initiated by the husband under the law.

"To be more specific it is not a talaq divorce it is divorce by faskh with a condition that makes it impossible to remarry the ex-husband," she explained.

" I have been at peace for a long while now, and I no longer recognize myself in any story that tries to drag me backward. So please do not get confused."

Queenie also said she's now focused on moving forward.

"I don't revisit the past because I'm simply not there anymore. My energy belongs entirely to what lies ahead my faith, my growth, and the quiet blessings of a heart that has let go completely. Please keep me in your du'as for my future, not my past," she added.

Although divorced, Queenie emphasized that she was not promoting or encouraging it.

"I am not promoting divorce or encouraging it. It is a solution and THE LAST RESORT for couples who are incapable of giving each other mawaddah or rahmah," she said.

"May Allah grant us all hearts that are content with His decree and give us a better future Ameen."

In 2024, Queenie announced her separation from her ex-husband through an Instagram post.

“This decision wasn't taken overnight, it has been years and months of trying to work things out.”

She also said that she would always “have love, honor, and respect” for the father of her child.

Queenie is the daughter of action star and senator Robin Padilla with his former wife, Liezl Sicangco.
