Raymond Lauchengco recalls fear in his career: 'I thought my career was finished'

OPM icon Raymond Lauchengco will his 40th anniversary in the music industry with a concert titled "Just Got Lucky," which is set on November 23, at The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City.
Despite his longevity in the music scene, Raymond admitted that it hasn't always been easy. "Noong nag-pandemic talaga, Boy, I thought my career was finished," he confessed during his 'Fast Talk with Boy Abunda' guesting aired on September 25.
Raymond continued, "I thought I would never sing again. I thought, if I were given opportunities again, if ever things get better, I would like to face these opportunities with gratitude, with grace, truth, and authenticity."
Thankfully, he was able to persevere through the test of time just like his songs, including memorable hits like "So It's You."
Raymond noticed how his songs have evolved through the years. "Ang maganda dito, nag-evolve talaga. From something that talked about first love, I would sing it sa mga renewal of vows for couples together for 20, 30 years or so. It tells a story of a love that evolves."
To commemorate his fourth decade in the industry, Raymond will have a concert where he will perform his crowd favorite hits.
"It's my way of saying thank you to all the audiences who have listened to me for the past 40 years and have continued to listen to me," he said.
