Ruru Madrid to lead a Cinemalaya film

For the first time, primetime action hero Ruru Madrid will star in a Cinemalaya film.
The actor will be leading the movie Kamay ni Bathala, one of the 10 full-length entries for this year's edition of the prestigious film festival.
The movie tells the story of a young soldier who introduces the game of football to the children of a remote, war-torn village.
The film's title is most likely a reference to one of football's most controversial moments--Diego Maradona's opening goal during the 1986 World Cup quarter-final match between Argentina and England, where he allegedly used his left hand to score.
The match ended 2-1 in favor of Argentina after Maradona scored another goal. Argentina eventually won its second World Cup title that year.
