Ruru Madrid, Yassi Pressman reunite in 'Video City'

Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid is set to reunite with former Kapuso actress Yassi Pressman as they banner GMA Pictures and Viva Films' upcoming movie titled 'Video City.'
'Video City' tells the story of Han (Ruru), a film student who travels back to the 90s where he meets Ningning (Yassi), a woman who will change his life.
Han is looking forward to becoming a legit filmmaker just like his mother, a renowned director whose iconic movie is shown in different exhibits. Problem is, he is feeling uninspired to finish his thesis. His mother is now bedridden and, naturally, her deteriorating health has quite an impact on him.
After attending yet another tribute for his director mom, Han enters an old internet cafe to unwind. He plays with the VHS tape rewinder. Moments after, he finds himself transported to the 90s. Miraculously, the cafe is now a Video City branch.
The staff that attends to him is Ningning, and he is mesmerized by her personality. Even as he finds his way back to the present, Han decides to keep coming back to the 90s to get to know her more. Ningning is actually an aspiring actress, but she is unlucky to bag a role in auditions.
Han is able to explore the 90s life with Ningning, and the more he spends time with her, the more he falls in love with her. But each day that he returns to the word, the duration of his stay gets shortened. Han wants to find Ningning's whereabouts in the present, but she forbids him to. Will there ever be a chance for a budding romance when they are different worlds apart?
'Video City' is directed by Raynier Brizuela; co-written by him and Che Espiritu, writer and director of 2018 Cinemalaya film Pan de Salawal.
