Sam Verzosa draws inspiration from GF Rhian Ramos

Sam Verzosa smiled when asked what his girlfriend, Rhian Ramos, had given him as a birthday present.
“Peace of mind at pagmamahal. Yun ang pinakaimportante,” he told GMANetwork.com and other select media at his 37th birthday celebration at the Maserati Philippines in Connecticut, San Juan City last Thursday, September 12.
He continued, “Alam mo, yung mga bagay, lilipas din 'yan at panandalian lang. Ang kailangan natin ay yung mga pangmatagalan. Sabi ko nga, ang dinadasal natin ay love, peace of mind…”
The TV host and Party-List representative then mentioned how important the actress was in his mission as a public servant.
Sam said, “Sobrang importante ang suporta niya dahil meron akong peace of mind. Lalo akong ginaganahan kapag okay kami, masaya sa pakiramdam, excited akong umuwi.
Siya yung nagbibigay inspirasyon sa akin para gawin yung mga tamang bagay sa mundo. Masaya ako na masaya rin siya na nagagawa ko yung mga bagay na yun.
“Ramdam ko na rin naman sa kanya 'yon, e, na full support siya sa akin. Kasi, noong nakilala niya ako, naramdaman niya ang nasa puso ko. Yung full support siya, masaya na ako.”
Aside from being an inspiration. Sam also appreciates Rhian for helping him and his team in some of their charity activities.
“Three years na kasi kami, e. Before tinitingnan niya lang ang charity works namin hanggang ngayon nandito na ako, kasama ko siya sa mga medical missions, charity works,” he said.
In a separate interview, Rhian said ever since she and Sam started their relationship, they have been talking about how to help other people, especially those in need.
She related to the press, “Definitely, one of the factors talaga na napapag-usapan namin is how we want to be of service to other people. We don't just want to be when we get good fortune, it's just for us to enjoy, parang nabababawan kami sa ganung konsepto.”
This is one of the traits of Rhian and Sam that made them a good couple. Likewise, Rhian said that their personality is the reason they're a match for each other.
She said, “Kahit three years na kami, para it still feels like always exciting. I still learn something new about him every day. I really feel like I'm learning a new thing about him and myself every day because of the things we do. We just get along really well para bang even the boring parts of life like, you know--doing chores, cooking a meal or going to the supermarket or something--for us it's super exciting.
Meanwhile, Rhian got kilig when the press told her that Sam considers him an inspiration.
“That's so sweet,” she said.
“Siyempre, that's my goal naman, di ba? I mean, that's our goal naman for each other, na we can tell each other everything without feeling any fear. Parang you can share however you feel, what happened to you today or your thoughts man lang, even your dark thoughts. I mean, we're just people. I just want him to know that he doesn't always have to be the best version. Even if he's at the worst version of himself, it's okay and it's safe.”

At the party, Sam was also asked about his birthday wish. He answered, “For my health and my family, that's all. I'm so blessed right now. Puro pasasalamat lang po kasi halos lahat binigay na po sa atin. Kaya ako naman ang nagbibigay sa mga tao. It's time to give back and pay it forward.
“Kasi, galing kami wala, e, na ngayon na-bless na ako. Isa lang lagi kong dinadasal--love, peace, and prosperity sa buong mundo. Siyempre, love para sa puso natin. Yun, to be of value to everyone and ma-fulfill ko ang purpose ko sa mundo.”
