Sam Verzosa turns sentimental on charity car auction

Sam Verzosa couldn't help but become emotional as he talked about one of the luxury cars he auctioned off to raise funds for his planned dialysis and diagnostic center in Sampaloc, Manila.
In an event called “Driven to Heal,” the celebrity businessman showed the luxury cars that he donated to a charity car auction for the said project. One of these was the Bentley Bentayga luxury SUV.
When event host David Celdran asked Sam about the story of his luxury SUV, the Dear SV host paused for a while before answering, “Well, the story of this car, papa ko ang may gusto nito. When we went to London, nakita niya, ang sabi niya, gusto niya 'to. Sabi niya, ''Nak, bili tayo no'n.' Sayang lang, di niya inabutan kasi noong binili namin 'to, nagkasakit siya 'tapos nawala.”
Sam also admitted that because of its sentimental value, “Siyempre, nahirapan din akong gamitin. But I think, matutuwa ang tatay ko na…”
Sam also shared with David that his dad influenced him to do charity work.
“Siya yung nagturo sa akin na magbigay. Kahit walang-wala na kami, yung last money namin, itinutulong namin. Sa tingin ko, this is the original SV, Sam Verzosa.”
Sam also thought that it would be significant to donate this to raise funds for his project because, “Nag-dialysis din siya [his dad] before he died. So, I think, gusto niyang mapupunta 'to sa mga dialysis patients. Sa tingin ko, magiging proud siya sa taas. Matutuwa talaga siya.”
Aside from this luxury SUV, Sam donated nine more high-end car models, which were displayed during the “Driven to Heal” event at the Frontrow Headquarters in Quezon City on Sunday, September 29.
According to him, he did not have any hesitation in donating these cars. “Na-enjoy naman natin yun, nagamit natin. But now, in my position, I think mas maraming 'to, mas maraming makikinabang. I think it's time na mapunta na to good use. As I've always said, we don't just do this to help. We do this to inspire others to do the same.”
