Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, Sharon Cuneta withdraw cyber libel case against Cristy Fermin

Senator Kiko Pangilinan and his wife Sharon Cuneta have peacefully settled their cyber libel case against entertainment reporter Cristy Fermin.
In a recent Facebook post, showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz shared an update that the couple officially withdrew their complaint following Cristy's public apology on her YouTube channel.
"Nakakatuwa.
Ogie also reflected on Cristy's humble quote, "Kung nakapanakit tayo ng kalooban, marunong naman tayong humingi ng tawad,” which became an important part of their current situation.
Thank you, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan and Mareng Mega."
The post included a photo of the three now smiling and at peace, showing that all is well between them.
To recall, the Makati Regional Trial Court indicted Cristy Fermin with five counts of cyber libel in October 2024. The charges stemmed from what the couple described as “baseless” and “malicious” statements aired on Cristy's YouTube channel.
The prosecutor requested bail of Php 48,000 for each count, amounting to Php 240,000 in total.
Shortly after the indictment, Cristy reassured followers online.
