Celebrity marriages that ended in annulment or divorce

Kristine Hermosa married Diether Ocampo in Jaen, Nueva Ecija on September 21, 2004.

Kristine filed for annulment less than a year later after marrying Diether and in March 2006 the court finally annulled their marriage. In 2011, Kristine walked down the aisle again and tied the knot with Vic Sotto's son, Oyo Sotto.

Miss Universe 1st runner-up Miriam Quiambao tied the knot with Italian businessman Claudio Rondinelli. But two years later they separated and later filed for annulment.

Love blossomed between the Pinay beauty queen and motivational speaker and author Roberto “Ardy” Roberto. The two became an official couple in July 2013 and by March 25, 2014 Miriam and Ardy tied the knot.

Carmina tied the knot with then matinee idol, Rustom Padilla in 1994.

The fairytale wedding did not last forever. In 1996, Carmina and Rustom separated and in 2002 their marriage was annulled. Carmina marries Zoren Legaspi in November 2012, her partner for twelve years.  Rustom admitted in 2006 on national television that he is gay and later changed his name to BB Gandanghari.

PBA superstar Benjie Paras and Jackie Forster got married on December 18, 1994. They had two sons named Andre and Kobe.

Benjie and Jackie separated in 2001 and two years later the court granted their annulment. Benjie has found a new partner, former preschool teacher and commercial model, Lxyen Diomampo

Popular kontrabida actress Maricar de Mesa tied the knot with professional basketballplayer Don Allado on December 1, 2006.

In her recent interview with a showbiz website, Maricar shared that her annulment has already been granted this 2017. She now has a baby daughter named Alianna Sky with her American partner, but the two have no plans of tying the knot soon.

Merryl weds Bernard Palanca on September 8, 2006, but five months after their wedding the couple called it quits.

In 2011, Meryll filed for annulment before the the Regional Trial Court Branch 225 in the Quezon City Municipal Hall and last year their marriage was finally annulled. Meryll has a son with Bernard named Elijah.

TV host / actress Amy Perez annulment case with former South Border vocalist  Brix Ferraris was particularly challenging. In fact in 2006 , the Supreme Court denied Amy’s plea for annulment.

In 2014, Amy finally got her wish to end her union with Brix that started in 1995. And in November 2014, she married her partner for eight years Carlo Castillo.

Vic Sotto and Dina Bonnevie walked down the aisle in 1982. They have two children, Danica (1983)   and Oyo (1984). 

But, Dina and Vic’s lovestory will come to an end, when the couple separated in 1986. By 1992, the court annulled their marriage. Vic married long-time girlfriend Pauleen Luna on January 2016.

Comedian Dennis Padilla and Marjorie Barretto tied the knot in 1997.

Marjorie asked the court in 2007 to annul her marriage with Dennis and in 2009 it was finally granted.

Singers Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez first met in 1982   and four years later they got married.  

It was reported that  Pops Fernandez  filed for annulment in 1999 and a year later it was granted. 

There's no happily ever for celebrity couple Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano. The two got married in a fairytale wedding in 2010 and separated in January 2013, after news surfaced about Cesar's alleged affair with model Krista Miller.

Sunshine filed for an annulment in 2014. They have three daughters named Samantha, Angelina, and Chesca. The 'Mano Po Legacy' actress confirmed in an interview in September 2018 that the court granted her petition to annul her wedding with Cesar.

Former Streetboys dancer Vhong Navarro married actress Bianca Lapus in 1998 in Floridablanca, Pampanga. Bianca was already pregnant with their first child, Isaiah.

Bianca and Vhong's marriage didn't last long. In May 2005, Vhong filed an annulment case before the court. Three years later in July 2008, the Court of Appeals affirmed the annulment of marriage between the Kapamilya star and Bianca Lapus. Despite what happened, both Vhong and Bianca remained good friends as they raise their son. In fact, the two were spotted during the graduation rites of Isaiah. Bianca even lauded Vhong for being a good father to their son on Instagram.

Ciara Sotto confirmed in her interview on 'Tunay na Buhay' that she and her estranged husband Joe Oconer is in the process of annulling their marriage. The two tied the knot in 2010.

Despite their split up in 2016, Ciara made sure that her son Crixus bonds with his father. According to her, “He sees him and they spend time together. They bond. I think it's important din naman that he has a relationship with his dad.”

Sheryl Cruz's fairytale wedding with Norman Bustos came to an end in August 2010. The two were married thrice - their first wedding was a civil ceremony in1996 in Nevada, then Sheryl and Norman had a church wedding in the Philippines on the same year, and in 1997, another church wedding in California.

Their marriage lasted for 12 years. They decided to call it quits and filed for divorce in the U.S. They have a daughter they named Ashley.

Samantha Lopez, more popularly known as Gracia of Eat Bulaga, is already divorced to her non-showbiz husband. The Stepdaugthers star revealed in a showbiz website interview in January 2016 that she and her business tycoon husband Warren Edwards filed for divorce after 10 years of marriage.

Rey “PJ” Abellana and Rea Reyes first met in the GMA-7 soap 'Anna Liza' starring the late Julie Vega. Rea, was a popular commercial model in the '80s.

In an interview in 2016, Carla Abellana shared that she was barely five years old, when her parents, Rey and Rea's marriage was annulled.

TV actress Kathleen Hermosa, sister of Kristine Hermosa, told in an interview with PEP.Ph in September 2022 about how she's doing after her marriage has been annulled.

If you remember, Kathleen was married to Martin Imperial, who was diagnosed with brain cancer in September 2014.

Kathleen shared to PEP.Ph, "Marami pong nangyari sa akin. As you all know, hindi naman kaila na I was once married.

"Hindi ko po talaga ito sinasabi but it didn't last, I am now legally single.”

Who would have thought that the dream wedding of Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana in October 2021 would end in a heartbreak?

After so many speculations about the status of their marriage, Tom Rodriguez confirmed in an interview with Nelson Canlas that his marriage with Carla has ended.

According to him, he filed for divorce in the United States.

Tom is an American citizen, so he can file for divorce. It will only be recognized in the Philippines when the court approves a petition of recognition of foreign divorce decree.

The actor stated, "Now that the divorce decree is final, I truly wish Carla's birthday wish be granted and that she finds the happiness she is searching for,"

Meanwhile, Carla told Chika Minute that her divorce with Tom hasn't sunk in yet. “Number one divorce doesn't exist in the Philippines, dahil ang foreign nung divorce and wala kasi sa atin, hindi pinapractice dito parang hindi pa siya fully nagsi-sink in, siguro mas doon pa siya magsi-sink in sa akin 'pag siguro dito na naproseso o dito na naasikaso at na-recognize na siya ng Pilipinas.”

Ex couple Gina Alajar and Michael de Mesa have three children, two of them followed in their footsteps as actores, they are Ryan Eigenmann and Geoff Eigenmann. Their youngest AJ appeared in the defunct youth-oriented show titled 'Click.' The couple called it quits in 2001 and the court granted their annulment in 2006.

Former Viva Hot Babe member Katya Santos married Anton de los Reyes in 2013, but their relationship didn't last and they broke up in 2016.

In an interview with PEP.Ph in 2023, Katya shared that her marriage with her ex-husband is currently undergoing annulment procedures. But this January 2024, the former sexy actress happily announced that she is now engaged to her non-showbiz partner Paolo Pilar. The sweet proposal happened when the two visited Japan.

Sparkle actress Max Collins confirmed in an interview that she and Pancho Magno have mutually agreed to file for divorce. The ex-couple tied the knot in December 2017.

In her exclusive chat with 24 Oras, Max talked about the process of filing for divorce since she is a US citizen.

"Because I'm an American citizen, I'll divorce," Max said. "It's not active as of now, but soon. We already talked about it, that's something we're working on."

Max also reiterated that there is no bad blood between her and Pancho. "We're good, we're great. It really works for us, very healthy, and we're both happy and our son is very happy, so really it worked out for the best."

In a report on 24 Oras Weekend last November 9, 2024, Max announced that her divorce with Pancho has been granted in the US.

Despite the end of their marriage, the Sparkle actress stated that hopefully ex-couples can find inspiration on what happened between her and Pancho, especially with their co-parenting set up.

“We want to show people that you can be like us. I mean it's possible.”

Jodi Sta. Maria described the last 13 years of waiting for the court to grant her annulment with Panfilo “Pampi” Lacson III as a “test of faith and trust with God.”

In her Instagram post on June 9, 2024, the 'Unbreak My Heart' star shared the happy news that the Supreme Court has finally granted her petition for nullity of marriage.

Still, Jodi has developed a close relationship with Pampi and his partner Iwa Moto. Their blended family setup is a true inspiration to many.

The Kapamilya actress has a son with Pampi named Thirdy.

Meanwhile, Pampi's current relationship with 'StarStruck' alumna Iwa Moto is still going strong.. They recently marked their 12th anniversary last April 2024. The couple already has two kids named Eve and Caleb Jiro.

Zsaza Padilla was married to Dr. Modesto Tatlonghari, the father of 'It's Showtime' host Karylle. They tied the knot in August 1980. The annulment of their civil wedding was granted on July 13, 2009 but was only finalized on December 17, 2010.

Unfortunately, Karylle's Dad Modesto passed away last August 11, 2024.

Zsazsa became the long-time partner of the King of Comedy Dolphy before the comedy legend died in 2012 at age 83.

Comedy Concert Queen Aiai Delas Alas has confirmed in an interview with PEP.Ph that she intends to divorce her estranged husband Gerald Sibayan. Prior to her interview with the entertainment website, it was already reported that Aiai's petition to revoke her request for Gerald to become a permanent U.S. resident has been granted by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in March 2025.

“Ang priority ko ay maging matapat sa lahat ng mga kilos o dealings ko, lalo na sa U.S. Immigration, kaya hindi ako puwedeng magsinungaling tungkol sa kalagayan o mga nangyayari sa marriage ko,” Aiai told PEP.PH.

She added, “Nag-file ako ng divorce so karapatan nilang malaman na hindi ko na gustong makinabang si Gerald sa petisyon ko.

“Kapag hindi ko na siya asawa, hindi na siya entitled sa mga benepisyo ng isang spouse.”

Despite what happened with her marriage, Aiai has been a vision of strength and recently shared with her followers on Facebook about the importance of "self-love."

She posted on FB, "Dating myself is going great -- I'm thoughtful, funny, and never forget our anniversary... because it's today."

"I declare April 7,2025 my ME-versary. A celebration of me, myself, and my amazing self-love journey ... Happy MEversary ME. I love you very much AI."

'Bubble Gang' comedienne Chariz Solomon opened up about her annulment with her ex-husband Nestro Ng during her guesting in 'Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. It was in 2018 when she and Nestor parted ways and in January 2025, the court granted their annulment.

The versatile Sparkle comedienne admitted to Boy Abunda that she still "grieves" on what happened to her marriage.

She explained, “Kasi siyempre pamilya ko rin siya, e. At hindi magbabago 'yun and ang dami pong huge part of my life, almost half of my life, siya 'yung kasama ko talaga.”

Chariz added, “So hindi talaga siya easy for me, atsaka ano naman siya e, mabait siyang tao. Ganu'n lang po talaga, sometimes people grow apart. Hanggang ngayon po, hindi ko pa rin po maintindihan. Pero of course, I accept it and may mga bagay lang talaga na kailangan mangyari, hindi sinasadya, pero it will happen and you can't stop it.”

Currently, Chariz is in a happy relationship with Vince Teotico.
