SHINee's Key celebrates birthday with new album 'Pleasure Shop'

SHINee's Key is treating fans with new music on his birthday today, September 23, as he released his third mini album, Pleasure Shop, along with the music video for the title track with the same name.
The album contains six tracks, including "Pleasure Shop," "Overthink," "Golden," "I Know," "Going Up," and "Novacaine," which was produced by American musician Lauv.
According to Key, the lead track is about "a pleasure shop where people come to buy happiness."
"I am the person who sells happiness at the shop, but I do not have feelings because I am a cyborg," Key explained, according to a translation in The Korea Herald.
"Even though people come to buy happiness, some leave deprived of it, as I, the cyborg, take their happiness away instead of selling it. I came up with this storyline while reflecting on advancing technologies like AI," the K-pop superstar added.
This marks Key's first album release in a year, following his second mini album Good & Great in September 2023.
Kim Ki-bum, known by his stage name Key, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, dancer, rapper, and actor. He debuted as a member of K-pop boy band SHINee in 2008.
In November 2018, Key launched his solo career with the release of his first studio album titled FACE along with the lead track "One of Those Nights."
