Fans were left disappointed after hearing that South Korean couple Yi Yoon-ha and Kim Yun-jae have officially ended their relationship.
The engaged couple surprised fans as they decided to call off their wedding and go their separate ways.
According to Soompi, both Yi Yoon-ha and Kim Yun-jae released official statements addressing their split.
Yi Yoon-ha shared her heartfelt message, "Even after the show, Yun-jae and I continued growing our love amidst lots of interest, but we ultimately decided to go our separate ways. I'm sorry that we weren't able to show you a happy ending."
She continued, "Because of your love and anticipation, we didn't want to disappoint you, so we made lots of effort, but at a moment where we had to make a once-in-a-lifetime decision, we wound up facing the wall of reality. Just like any couple, we fought and made up and made both precious and difficult memories, but I think we hadn't yet spent enough time together to promise each other the rest of our lives."
Yi Yoon-ha apologized once again and promised to focus on her personal growth. "Thank you once again to the people who worried about and rooted for me, and I will become a Yoon-ha who works hard to improve and grow," she concluded.
Meanwhile, Kim Yun-jae also expressed his apologies to fans. "For over a year, Yoon Ha and I did our best for each other as lovers, but after thinking carefully about it, we both made the decision to cheer each other on as we go our separate ways," he said. "Thank you for rooting for me up until now despite my shortcomings. I will work hard to improve and grow."
Yi Yoon-ha and Kim Yun-jae first met on the 2024 dating show My Sibling's Romance, where they developed feelings for each other and later became an official couple.
Their relationship blossomed beyond the show, leading to their engagement announcement last year. The former couple even shared on their YouTube channel that they were planning to tie the knot in early 2025.
