Sue Ramirez likens boyfriend Dominic Roque to tequila: 'Mapapasayaw ka sa saya'

Unlike her character in the upcoming movie In Between, Sue Ramirez is not confused at all with her new relationship with fellow actor Dominic Roque.
At the movie's media conference on Monday, April 21, Sue briefly described her character, Gaila, whose choice of alcohol is beer.
“As Gaila choice of alcohol ko ay beer… Dito sa pelikula, jina-judge yung mga tao base sa pinipili nilang alak. So ako, dahil beer, strong on the outside pero naman talaga, may mga pinagdadaanan din inside. She's still lost, that's why nag-put up siya sa in between na status ng relationship because mayroon pa siyang hinahanap. May kulang pa sa sarili niya kaya di pa siya maka-fully commit.
“I think yung character ko is very confused in her life. As ako rin naman, sa edad na ito parang ang dami pa rin nating gustong gawin, ang dami ng gusto nating i-try. Parang hanggang ngayon ay hinahanap pa rin natin ang sarili natin.”
While she could relate to her Gaila in this aspect, Sue said she and her character are different in relationships.
First, she doesn't see herself being in a “situationship,” which is the main theme of In Between.
“Hindi ako nagja-judge kung yun ang pinipili nila at hindi sila ready na pumasok sa isang relationship. It's hard to force din naman. Of course, iba-iba tayo ng priorities. Yung iba gusto nilang magtrabaho kaysa maghanap ng love life. Yung iba naman gusto magka-love life kaysa magtrabaho. Iba-iba talaga yung preferences ng mga tao.
“I believe at this point in time, we shouldn't judge the choices that people make. If that what makes them happy then, they should do it as long as wala silang natatapakang iba.
“Ako, I don't think I'm the type to do 'in betweens.' I think, lover girl talaga ako.”
As for her current relationship with Dominic, she said with a big smile, “Hindi po ako confused. Sure na ako.”
The 28-year-old actress also has clear expectations in a relationship.
She mentioned, “I think naman po, yung mga babae, kung ano ang ipinapakita sa tao, yun din ang mga gusto niyang makuha sa tao na 'yon. So, kung maalaga kang tao, yung din ang gusto mong makuha from him or her. Kung napapatawa mo siya, gusto mo napapatawa ka rin niya.”
Sue further stressed, “Reciprocation lang po talaga. Mirroring your partner is the best way to make you feel loved.”
On her relationship with Dominic
Right now, the actress says she and Dominic are still getting to know more about each other.
“Ang saya lang, actually, tama po ang sinabi n'yo. Masaya lang, walang pressure. Masaya lang talaga na lumalabas kami, we enjoy our time together. We explore, we go on adventures, we eat the best foods together. I think, foundation din po when starting a relationship would be finding out yung interests n'yo. So far, swak naman.”
Meanwhile, GMANetwork.com asked Sue Ramirez what kind of alcohol is Dominic. She replied, “I think, siya ay tequila, mapapasayaw ka sa saya. Tequila makes you dance, e. May gusto pa akong sabihin--healthy yung tequila kasi agave yun. Malakas ang tama, maini sa katawan… hoy! Joke lang. Lahat naman ng alak, mainit sa katawan.”
Rumors about Sue and Dominic started in November 2024 after they were spotted kissing inside a bar in Siargao. Then, in January 2025, the couple became Instagram official.
