Many Korean dramas show love stories that inspire us and make us believe in love again. They're often portrayed by talented and good-looking celebrities, it's no wonder many of them end up dating. The Korean entertainment industry is huge, and many stars end up falling in love not just onscreen but in real life as well.
Even if they tend to keep their relationships private and aren't as showy as other cultures, some celebrities are quite public with their dating lives, especially if they're bound for marriage.
Some of them have even gained shippers and fandoms for their relationships, and fans have
also grieved many Korean celebrity break-ups.
Here are a few Korean stars who have become lovers:
Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo first appeared together onscreen in 2016 for the set of 'Descendants of the Sun.' After many dating rumors, they announced their wedding plans in July 2017. They tied the knot on October 31, 2017.
In June 2019, Song Joong-ki's agency announces he has filed for divorce. A month later in July, the Song-Song couple is officially separated after their divorce has been granted.
Nam Joo-hyuk and Lee Sung-kyung starred in the 2016 drama 'Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo.'
In April 2017, their agency YG Entertainment revealed they've been friends for a long time and are going public with their relationship.
While many fans shipped this couple, they announced their breakup months later in August 2017.
Ryu Jun-ryeol and Hyeri starred in the 2015 drama 'Reply 1988.' Though they've remained lowkey, Hyeri sent a coffee truck for the filming of Ryu Jun-ryeol's drama 'Money Game' in 2022.
Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri ended their six-year relationship, with their agencies confirming the breakup in November 2023.
Ahn Jae-hyun and Ku Hye-sun first worked together in 2015 for the drama 'Blood,' and tied the knot on May 21, 2016 in Jeju Island.
However, in August 2019, Ku Hye-sun announced Ahn Jae-hyun has asked for divorce right after his birthday.
This led to a public spat between the two, after Hye-sun aired her sentiments about the divorce on social media, accusing Jae-hyun of cheating.
IU and Lee Jong-suk's friendship goes way back to 2012 when they were hosts for 'Inkigayo,' the two remain friends and have shown support for each others' careers.
Ten years later, IU and Lee Jong-suk announced their relationship through their agencies. Jong-suk already hinted at having a special someone at the 2022 MBC Drama Awards when he
said during his speech, "I want to tell that person that I'm thankful to them for always being so admirable, that I've liked them a lot for a very long time, and that I respect and admire them greatly."
Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-ah first met in January 2015 when they shot an ad for Giordano. They reportedly started dating in July 2015.
In May 2017, Woo-bin shocked everyone when he shared his diagnosis of Nasopharyngeal Cancer. Shin Min-ah has reportedly remained by his side throughout his health battle. He completed his treatment and has recovered in 2019. The actor has slowly but surely been making a comeback to acting.
