South Korean actress Park Ji-ah has passed away from a cerebral infarction at the age of 52.

Park Ji-ah reportedly died at 2:50 a.m. on September 30 after having a cerebral infarction or an ischemic stroke.

She was battling an undisclosed illness in a hospital and suffered from a fatal stroke on the morning of September 30.

Her agency, Villiance, shared a statement after her passing, published by Maeil Business Newspaper.

"Beliance will forever remember the passion of the deceased, who loved acting until the end. Once again, I express my deepest condolences on the way to the deceased, and I pray for the repose of the deceased."

She is known for her role in The Glory as Jung Mi-hee, the mother of Moon Dong-eun's (Song Hye-kyo).

Park Ji-ah made her acting debut in 2002 for the film Coastline. She has also starred in Epitaph, Gidam, Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, The Doctors, Suspicious Partner, among many others.

Her funeral will be held on October 2.
