The Stray's keyboardist Lim Jae Wook has sadly passed away after a prolonged battle with illness.

The group announced the heartbreaking news on Instagram, sharing a photo of Jae Wook alongside a touching tribute.

"A valuable member who used to fill the stage with us, our beloved keyboardist Jae Hyuk, has left us after a long battle," they wrote in Korean.

"All five members who were with me in the beginning of the band gathered together and finished the last road today. Now I'm saying goodbye to my brother and I want to cherish him deeply."

The band also asked fans for their prayers and vowed to keep the joyful memories of their late 37-year-old member alive in their hearts.

"We will always remember the times we cried, laughed and shared music together.
The melody and heart left by my brother will remain in our hearts and fans. May his soul rest in peace."

Despite their mourning, The Stray confirmed they will proceed with their scheduled concert on September 14.

The Stray is known for their hits such as "You, you," "My My Dearest," "Moon," and "Falling."

They are also behind original soundtracks for K-dramas like My Dearest (2023) and Romance in the House (2024).
