Actress Janice de Belen has five children and is proud to have raised them as a solo parent for 23 years.
Her eldest is Luigi Muhlach from her previous relationship with actor Aga Muhlach.
She had four children from her marriage to John Estrada--Inah, Moira, Kaila, and Yuan.
In a special Mother's Day feature on Karen Davila's vlog, Janice shared what she learned as a single mom raising five kids.
"Mas mahirap pala when your children are older, I have to say. Because when your children are younger, their needs are very simple. You give them your attention, you give them your time, you send them to school, you feed them, you take them out, you go out, you have fun. Of course life lessons, you talk, you get to watch all the movies that they want and it was fine," she explains.
"But then they're growing up, andon na 'yung mga factors na kinatatakutan mo. Like first, you don't want them to get into the bad things like drugs. Smoking? I wouldn't say it's bad, as bad as drugs, but you hope they won't 'di ba? But then alam mo, may experimental age so hindi mo maawat 'yun. You don't want them to have bad friends, bad influences," Janice adds.
