May bagong pag-ibig na si Tom Rodriguez mahigit dalawang taon matapos silang maghiwalay ng dating asawa na si Carla Abellana.
Sa Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, inamin ni Tom na hindi rin naging madali ang mga nagdaang taon sa kanyang buhay matapos ang controversial break-up nila ni Carla.
Matatandaang nagpahinga muna sa showbiz at namalagi muna si Tom noon sa Amerika kasama ang kanyang pamilya.
“Gaano katindi ang iyak na pinagdaanan mo in the last two years?” tanong ng TV host na si Boy Abunda kay Tom.
“A lot,” sagot ng aktor.
Dagdag niya, “Lalo being there and seeing my mom struggle even more with me, seeing me in that condition.
Kuwento pa ni Tom, “At that time, I felt like I was starting at a negative. 'Cause a lot of things that I thought meant a lot to me disappeared.”
Pero sa tulong ng kanyang pamilya at mga kaibigan, unti-unti raw nakabangon si Tom mula sa masalimuot na parte ng kanyang buhay.
Aniya, “You realize, in that lowest moment, you have a lot to be grateful pa rin pala, Tito Boy. You have a lot to be thankful for…
“If we can go through the darkest moment in our lives, and find that inner strength and that resilience, at mahanap mo 'yung lakas sa loob-loob mo na bumangon pa rin, I think that's something to be proud of…”
Ikinuwento rin ni Tom na nakatagpo na siya ng bagong pag-ibig ngayon pero 'di gaya ng dati, gusto niya na munang isapribado ito.
“In the context of romantic love, in the last two years. How did you know that you could still fall in love?” muling tanong ni Boy kay Tom.
“If you had asked me just a few years ago, Tito Boy, I would have a very different answer,” tugon ng aktor.
Paliwanag niya, “Pero like I said when I went through that healing process, that wasn't even in my mind but I do believe that… love does find you when you are ready for it, and when it found me, I thought my doors would be closed forever. Hindi pala. Because I am experiencing it again now.”
Bago matapos ang kanilang interview, tinanong ni Boy si Tom tungkol kay Carla, “Mapangahas na tanong. Anong dasal mo para kay Carla Abellana?”
Mabilis na sumagot si Tom, “I really wish her well. Every one of us deserves happiness and I truly wish that for her.”
