Moonstar88's former vocalist Acel Bisa opened up about her recent health battle.

In her Instagram post on Wednesday, October 8, the "Torete" hitmaker revealed that she had suffered from a medical emergency last month. She then went on to share her journey of recovery and expressed her deep gratitude for the swift action of those who attended to her, which enabled her to receive the urgent care she needed.

Acel described how the health scare began with a series of alarming symptoms.

She said, "Last Sept 19, I experienced a sudden sharp pain in my head. The shooting pain happened thrice. It was so painful that I couldn't stand and I fell. Thank God, Ate Sheila was there nasalo n'ya ako. It happened while I was doing my fitting sa Apartment 8."

Acel shared that the frightening symptom she experienced might have been caused by an old, chronic blood clot.

"I thought the end ko na waah, Praise God wala naman hemorrhage but they saw an old clot (chronic infarct) that should've affected my mobility, but they tested me and I am moving okay naman."

After seeking medical attention, the 49-year-old singer-songwriter learned that she had a mini stroke, a temporary blockage of blood flow to the brain.

She revealed, "'Di ko akalain na nagka-minor stroke na pala daw ako nang hindi ko alam. It's a miracle I'm okay. But they needed me to consult a neuro and have an MRI to check and also my ENT.. and so the following days after that there has been a series of doctor check ups and getting clearance from my Ortho doctor.

"My doctors have different clinics na malalayo sa isa't isa. So sobrang salamat kay Shey sinamahan n'ya ako with her driver para 'di ako mahirapan."

Besides the mini stroke, Acel disclosed that she has been battling gastrointestinal issues, which led her to undergo tests such as a gastroscopy and colonoscopy to better understand and manage her condition. She underwent surgery to remove 11 polyps from her stomach, which fortunately turned out to be benign. "Thank God, clear yung colon ko," she added.

Amid her health challenges. Acel couldn't help but thank the assistance she received, which played a crucial role in her quick recovery.

Sinamahan din nila ako when I did my procedure."

She went on, "Thank God for people like you, Ate Sheila and Shey. Sobrang salamat... pina-spa n'yo pa ako and booked a hotel for me para makarest, till airport sinamahan n'yo 'ko."

Acel, who currently resides in the Netherlands, further thanked her heroes, "Salamat sa inyo. Grabe! Angels ko kayo sa Pinas #healthscare #Acelmuni #friends #angels #heroes"

According to Acel, she still needs to undergo an MRI test to check her head once she's back in the Netherlands as part of her ongoing recuperation and monitoring.
