The Philippine entertainment industry mourns once again for the loss of veteran star Vangie Labalan.
On social media, Carlo Labalan sadly announced the news of his mother's passing in a heartfelt message.
"With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Vangie Labalan (Ma. Christina Bonghanoy Labalan). She passed away today in Australia due to illness, surrounded by those dearest and nearest to her heart. Her memories will forever remain in our hearts," he wrote.
Carlo expressed gratitude to all friends and acquaintances of the late star, knowing how much love Vangie received.
"To everyone who [knows] her, [loves] her, and was touched by her kindness, we extend our deepest gratitude. She is deeply loved and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched," Carlo continued.
"She will be coming home soon. Further details regarding her wake and funeral services will be shared in the coming days. Thank you for your prayers, love, and support during this difficult time."
Meanwhile, Vangie's daughter Van-van Aligam also took to social media to honor their late mother. Along with their videos and pictures, Van-van expressed grief in a penned message.
Many sent their condolence to the family in the comment section. Some fans even expressed gratitude for the kindness and memories they received from the late actress.
Vangie Labalan is known as a seasoned actress and comedienne in several television shows and movies. Some of her iconic projects were Pi7ong Tagpo (2007), Conan My Beautician (2016), Bakekang (2006), and many more.
