Warrant of arrest issued vs Cristy Fermin over Bea Alonzo's cyber libel case

The legal battle continues for showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin and two fellow entertainment personalities, following the issuance of an arrest warrant related to Bea Alonzo's cyber libel complaint.
According to a report by Super Radyo DZBB, Presiding Judge Cherry Chiara Hernando of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) found probable cause to put Cristy and her co-hosts, Rommel Villamor and Wendell Alvarez, on trial.
Bail was set at PhP48,000 each. The charges stem from allegedly defamatory remarks made against Bea during their media programs.
In a text message sent to GMA News Online, the accused columnist stated they're addressing the issue.
"Inaasikaso na namin. Naku, gan'un talaga! Kakambal ng trabaho natin ang ganitong kaso. Ilaban natin ito," she wrote.
Statements from Bea, Rommel, and Wendell have not yet been made public.

In May 2024, Bea filed cyber libel complaints against Cristy, Rommel, Wendell, and Ogie Diaz for alleged false, malicious, and damaging information against her.
Meanwhile, the recent warrant of arrest came after Cristy had resolved a separate cyber libel case filed by Sharon Cuneta and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan. The said case was dropped after both parties reached an amicable settlement.
"'Di basta naitatapon at nalilimot ang pagkakaibigan. Napakadaling ipagpatuloy ang pagmamahalan!" Sharon wrote in a post. "My heart is so happy and at peace."
