Here's what to expect in the new season of 'All in the Family with Dr. Tess.'
The reality show is top-billed by Dr. Tess Mauricio-Lee, dubbed as “America's favorite dermatologist.”
Dr. Tess, before AITF, is known to the Filipino community for her show in GMA Pinoy TV such as the Dr. Tess Show, which ran for six seasons.
She is a Board Certified Dermatologist, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and an internationally recognized cosmetic surgeon who graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine and a Summa Cum Laude graduate of The University of California San Diego.
AITF will pick up from where it left off in its past three seasons.
In a nutshell, the reality show gives viewers a look at how life is for many Asian immigrants in America.
It likewise highlights Filipino culture and tradition sans drama and gimmicks.
For its fourth season, AITF puts the spotlight on the younger generation, particularly Dr. Tess's bi-racial kids Jana and Michael.
Jana graduates from her pre-med at Stanford University and has a new boyfriend, Weston. Michael continues his sophomore year in high school.
Meanwhile, Amarah, who works for the MBeauty Eastlake branch headed by her dad, Rick (Dr. Tess's brother), is in a relationship with Kenny, who is of Japanese descent.
Different cultures are introduced as they learn that Filipino culture is still engraved in the younger kids.
Young parents Angela (Dr. Tess's youngest sister) and Austin are also in for a heavy household as they welcome their second child, Riley.
Not to be missed are the special celebrity guests gracing the show's new season.
On top of the list is Hollywood icon Paula Abdul, who will be making her first appearance in a Filipino show.
Dr. Tess and Paula are good friends, and viewers will see the two share a fun-filled day.
They will look back on their friendship through the years as well as Paula's connection with Dr. James.
Social media superstar and Fil-Am singer Bella Poarch will also drop by. She was filmed while visiting Dr. Tess in her Beverly Hills clinic.
Rapper and Black Eyed Peas member Apl.de.Ap is also set to appear in the show.
Apl and Dr. Tess are also good friends, and the latter counts the popular rapper as among her celebrity clients.
Filipino YouTuber and beauty influencer Heart Defensor will also guest and join Dr. Tess in her podcast show.
It will be fun to see the two beauty industry heavyweights interact and share stories for the viewers to hear.
Through AITF, Dr. Tess and her family hope to inspire people and stress the importance of Asian representation in mainstream media.
“We felt strongly that when we were doing this show that we wanted to show us, our family, Asian-Americans, Filipino-Americans, as normal people living normal lives, doing normal things,” said Dr. James Lee, the husband of Dr. Tess.
“So yeah, that was real to us and we experienced it firsthand and we wanted to pass that on.”
