From the Australian Open, Alex Eala will now face Russian tennis player Alina Charaeva in the Round of 32 of the inaugural Philippine Women's Open to be held on January 26 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

Russian tennis player Alina Charaeva has been steadily making her mark on the women's circuit, reaching a career-high singles ranking of No. 171 and doubles ranking of No. 203 in 2025. She has claimed six singles and five doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit, showcasing her versatility on the court.

Alina made her WTA Tour debut at the 2019 Kremlin Cup in doubles and has since built experience in professional tournaments. A highlight came at the WTA 125 2023 Andorrà Open, where she upset third seed Océane Dodin before falling to Heather Watson, demonstrating her potential against top competitors.
