A heartfelt portrayal of sacrifice and reflection unfolded in Yasser Marta's performance this Holy Week.
Recently, the Kapuso actor took on the role of Jesus Christ in Pampanga's Senakulo, a traditional theatrical reenactment of the life, death, and resurrection of the Lord.
Honoring the sacrifices of the Savior, Yasser embodied the role by carrying of the cross depicting the suffering endured by Jesus on the path to crucifixion.
Despite being of Portuguese and Tausug descent, he shared that his Muslim faith is not a barrier to portraying the role. In fact, he revealed that playing Jesus Christ has long been one of his dreams.
"Honored to tell His story. Maraming salamat po," he wrote in the caption of his post.
