You know you’re in the loop when you’ve been hit with fever, TomDen fever, that is! There are a million reasons why we all ogle and swoon over TomDen, but to avoid turning this article into a four-part saga, here are 10 reasons why the TomDen loveteam is epic:
10. It’s the first of its kind in Philippine television.

It’s a milestone for Philippine TV to depict gay couples for the first time through
My Husband’s Lover. Getting Tom Rodriguez and Dennis Trillo to portray lovers Vincent and Eric was a good choice. They know how to make the most of
My Husband’s Lover’s refreshing material. Individually, they are certified hunks with acting chops to boot. Together, TomDen is legendary.
9. Their features are complementary.

Tom comes across as the type you’d certainly want your parents to meet, what with this swoon-worthy mestizo looks and bedimpled smile. The tan, buff and tattooed Dennis gives “bad boy” a new spin by wearing quirky black-framed glasses in the series. Their vibes are poles apart, and that’s what makes them more attractive as a pair.
8. Both actors are playing against type.

Before
My Husband’s Lover, Dennis Trillo played Marian Rivera’s womanizing husband in
Temptation of Wife. Tom Rodriguez was Marian Rivera’s boy toy in
Temptation Island. Turning the two alpha males into gay lovers is genius.
7. TomDen breaks the stereotypical depiction of on-screen gay couples.

In local movies, gay couples are commonly included for comic relief. Usually, this “gay couple” comprises of a moneyed effeminate gay and a straight guy who freeloads off his partner. TomDen showed through
My Husband’s Lover that gay relationships are as typical as heterosexual ones.
6. The kilig factor is effortless.

They’re not pa-cute and they don’t need to constantly hold hands or hug. Just seeing them stare into each other’s eyes or smile at each other is priceless.
5. There are a lot of lessons to be learned from TomDen as Vincent and Eric.

They love each other, and they acknowledged that love is not enough, so they parted ways. Infidelity is never justifiable. Their flaws are shown, as well as how they suffer the consequences of their actions. They are imperfect, but they are trying to do what is right.
4. The TomDen loveteam is controversial.
My Husband’s Lover got the ire of CBCP by showcasing a love triangle involving the wife, the husband and the gay lover. In particular, CBCP and conservatives frowned upon the romance between Vincent and Eric; but this is reality being shown. The support being extended to TomDen is stronger than any of their detractors.
3. The TomDen loveteam breaks barriers.

The TomDen loveteam is so phenomenal that it has broken the barriers of gender and class. Tom and Dennis have tapped into the market of every gender in every shape and size. Even members of the middle and upper class who don’t usually watch teleseryes have been bewitched by the magic of TomDen.
2. They have given a new meaning to the term of endearment, “Bhe”.

“Bhe” may sound baduy, but TomDen elevated it to a whole new level by using it as Vincent and Eric’s term of endearment in
My Husband’s Lover. Now, more couples are probably calling each other “Bhe”, but when uttered by Vincent and Eric to each other, it just sounds way, way sweeter.
1. Their chemistry is a force to be reckoned with.
