Recently, an 18-year-old girl named Joanna Sisracon made rounds on social media because of her unapologetic TikTok videos. The teenager has been posting videos wherein she shows off her true self including a big scar on her head.
According to Joanna, she was only five months old when she was accidentally burned by a gas lamp that was left unattended. Fortunately, she survived, but left a permanent scar on her face.
As a result, this made her lose her confidence and was bullied.
After getting disfigured at such a young age, Joanna was bullied because of her looks.
The huge scar she has on her face, which she covered with a wig and make-up, is now like a badge of honor that defines her. Despite what others say about her, Joanna's family sees her real beauty and worth and they shower her with love, with or without make-up and wig.
That renewed confidence even translated on TikTok. Currently, Joanna, is one of the most viewed Filipino TikTok content creators, with almost 500,000 followers. She now inspires others with her videos and receives a lot of support and adoration from her followers, which she rightfully deserves.
Joanna said.
Even if most social media platforms continue to show unrealistic standards of beauty, she was courageous enough to step up and show her bare face and beautiful scars.
