Three fusion restaurants to try in Bonifacio High Street

'PopTalk' host Tonipet Gaba, together with celebrity reviewer Denise Barbacena, Chef Francis Lim, and lifestyle blogger Dana Decena, visited three fusion restaurants located at the very trendy Bonifacio High Street.

Fusion cuisine combines culinary traditions from different countries or cultures.

In this highly globalized world, it is not surprising to find dishes which combine elements from two or more distinct cuisines.

PopTalk host Tonipet Gaba, together with celebrity reviewer Denise Barbacena, Chef Francis Lim and lifestyle blogger Dana Decena, visited three fusion restaurants located at the very trendy Bonifacio High Street.

Their first stop is Chino, a modern Mexican-style restaurant inspired by Asian cuisine and ingredients.

The restaurant is very popular in Hong Kong and the branch in Bonifacio High Street is the first in Manila.

The group also visited Nikkei Nama Bar, which serves a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine.

It is the sister restaurant of the popular Nikkei, which has branches in Rada Street, Rockwell, and The Podium.

Their last stop is La Picara, a Spanish restaurant with a playful Filipino and Asian twist.

The name means "the sassy girl" in Spanish and really describes the clever way the restaurant names and serves their dishes.
