Miss World Philippines 2017 officially announced the thirty-five candidates who will compete for the crown on September 3 (Sunday) at the Mall of Asia Arena.
 
Aside from the Miss World Philippines 2017 title, three beauties are also going to be crowned as Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2017, Miss Multinational 2017, and Miss Eco Philippines 2017.
 
Miss World Philippines National Director Arnold Vegafria is proud of the quality and diversity of the candidates who all came from different and interesting backgrounds.
 
Beauty queen hopefuls are Shawntel Cruz, Veronica Villones, Glyssa Perez, Rose Flores, Kaycie Lyn Fajardo, Jona Sweett, Jane Darren Genobisa, Nikki Deveza, Teresita Ssen Marquez, Leidda Paulette Babasanta, Gabriela Ortega, Henna Kaizzelle Nicole Cajandig, Kathryn Cudiamat, Cristina Marie Coloma, Laura Lehmann, Ethel Abellanosa, Jellie Alliana Escandon, Angel Alvaira, Joanna Marie Rabe, Trizha Ocampo, Netania Deveza, Chelsea Anne Manalo, Princess Laureano, Zara Carbonell, Karren Dela, Janela Cuaton, Ella Eiveren Lubag, Sheila Marie Reyes, Krystle Anne Ongjanco, Kathleen Gomez, Jeanyfer Ozbot, Cynthia Thomalla, Noelle Uy-Tuazon, Andrea Poliquit, and Sophia Senoron.
 
The kind of enthusiasm and interest in this pageant has greatly increased this year. Miss World Philippines General Manager Bessie Besana said, “This is definitely a record-breaking feat!” adding it can “keep the country’s winning streak in the global pageant arena.”
 
Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Grey can’t wait to pass on her crown to the girl who deserves it the most, “[It’s] really a strong start [for] 2017, especially the girls here, I have had the chance to talk to. They are really well-rounded, [and] they really enjoy themselves which I think is really important in a pageant like this. I think we really have a good competition this year.”
