4 Makeup Blunders You Didnt Know Youre Doing

Makeup guru Tor Torres points out biggest makeup mistakes and how to avoid them.

We all have our makeup routine that we feel we'll never stray away from. But what if your everyday routine is actually full of makeup blunders?

Have no fear because celebrity makeup Tor Torres is here to help.

We sat down with the makeup guru and wrote down the biggest makeup mistakes he's discovered over the years and explains why they may be throwing a wrench in your routine.

Here are his top common makeup mistakes, and of course, how to avoid them.

We know what you're thinking, “Kilay is life!” but then you may be overfilling your eyebrows too heavily.

For Torre, the best way to avoid this blunder is to put down your eyebrow pencil once you start doubting yourself.

“Kilay, yes it frames the face, but framing too much makes you look like an ogre kasi minsan ang kapal-kapal at ang itim-itim.

“So stop when you ask yourself, 'Parang sobra na kaya?' Once you do, it means na there's an instinct telling you na you're going beyond threshold already.”

Torre suggests that instead of contouring, one can always opt to use bronzers for an enhanced skin tone.

“You can enhance your bone structure by using bronzers because they're a little shimmery, and it's not very matte. It would really help enhance your skin tone as well and make you look warmer and more chiseled.

“Kasi if you contour and you go hard on it, it just looks dirty on the face. So parang, for all that effort magmumukha lang putik and nobody wants to look like that.”

Matte or dewy? Whatever floats your boat, Torre says to simply choose one.

“Minsan kasi may mga girls na they want to look nice and dewy but in the middle of the day they keep on mattify themselves. So decide what look you want and stick to it.

“One thing these girls have to remember is that they are not on the spotlight all the time. So, apply makeup as needed lang. If you're going on a meeting and you don't want to look greasy then you can tone down shine.

“If not, then let your natural oils come out.”

Torre says that the most common source of these makeup beauty blunders is from watching the wrong beauty vlogger.

“Girls have to be careful with the YouTube videos that they watch kasi one thing they have to realize is that YouTubers, especially the American ones, are well lit. They use shooting lights!

“So tone everything down and maybe look for another beauty guru. Just take everything at a grain of salt in those beauty YouTubers that you watch kasi minsan over excessive sila mag-makeup.”

At the end of the day, we have all made mistakes with makeup. And being a makeup enthusiast means you are always learning and growing.

So if you make any of these mistakes right now, don't feel defeated because you'll get better.
