In this time of global health crisis caused by COVID-19, the Sports Psychology Unit encourages everyone to get up and be active throughout the day during the enhanced community quarantine.
Any activity like taking free online classes or making your own compost at home is better than none.
However, if you wish to do some home exercises, the organization recommends getting at least 150 minutes per week of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous aerobic (or a combination of both). And if you can, include moderate to high-intensity muscle-strengthening activity like weight training at least twice a week.

As you get used to being more active, it also suggests increasing your time and/or intensity to get more benefits!
According to the Centers for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC), “everyone can experience the health benefits of physical activity” and that age, abilities, ethnicity, shape, or size “do not matter.”
Here are the 7 benefits of exercise on wellbeing:
1. Self-Acceptance. Exercise can improve self-acceptance by giving an individual a more positive view of himself.
2. Autonomy. Exercise can increase your autonomy by making you feel more confident in the decisions that you make.
3. Positive Attitude. Exercise can improve your health and body image which leads to a more positive attitude
4. Growth. Exercise can improve personal growth by giving you more new challenges.
5. Mastery. Through exercise, you can develop mastery by feeling in charge of the situation in which you live.
6. Positive Relations. Exercise leads to more positive social interactions.
7. Mental Health. Exercise can improve your mood and help reduce depression and anxiety.
