Fans flocked to SM Megamall Cinema 10 last December 19 to witness another movie masterpiece from Regal Entertainment: “Bahay Kubo.” With actors coming from competing TV stations, it was a refreshing change to see them forget about network feuds even if just for a night. --Text by Jillian Q. Of course, they all went to watch the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano, but they were also excited to see Mark Herras and Marian Rivera together! stars Everyone had high expectations for this Joel Lamangan film, and from the people’s reactions during the movie, it looked like they weren’t disappointed. They cheered on their favorite actors every time they appeared onscreen, and some even had placards to show their support. Marian Rivera, Mark Herras, Yasmien Kurdi, Isabella De Leon, Rita Iringan, Eugene Domingo, Rayver Cruz, and Shaina Magdayao showed their appreciation by acknowledging their fans and waving to them every now and then. Maricel and Marian According to a Regal entertainment press release, Maricel and Marian were very comfortable with each other while shooting their scenes. When her mother Ida (Gloria Romero) comes home with an abandoned baby, Eden (Maricel Soriano) is at first outraged, but then becomes all the more caring with Lily (Marian Rivera). stars Seeing this as her new calling, Eden soon adopts more children and will eventually have a child of her own when she marries Perry (Eric Quizon). She soon finds her bahay kubo swamped with children, most of which are orphans. But as the family moves from their bahay kubo to a mansion in Manila, problems beset their growing household. Perry (fueled by his ambitions, unwittingly places his family in dishonor and debt. Their children, on the other hand, begin an emotional tug of war to fight over parental affections.) Fate eventually forces Eden to decide on the future of her children. Bahay Kubo is a fable about home and family, for the ties that bind us in our hearts will always bring us back home.
