Kilalanin ang image consultant na dapat katakutan ng bagong batch of 'StarStruck' hopefuls.
Abbygale Arenas-de Leon is the image consultant na dapat katakutan ng bagong batch of 'StarStruck' hopefuls. Bakit? Dahil she will make sure that all graduates of 'StarStruck V' will become stars by the time they leave the competition. Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos provided by GMA Network. starsBinalikan na natin sina Douglas Nierras at Ms. Gina Alajar. Nakilala na natin sina Jai Sabas-Aracama at Barbi Chan. Ngayon naman, we turn the spotlight on Abbygale Arenas-de Leon, ang image mentor ng StarStruck V. As an image consultant, Abbygale tells us na ang una niyang tinitingnan sa isang tao ay ang kanilang physical aspects—at ang kanilang behavior. She explains, "when you say physical, it's the beauty of the face, the pose, the skin—that's very visual, and then, the behavior, the attitude. Composed ba siya? May grace ba siya under pressure? Maganda ba 'yung pakikisalamuha niya sa tao? Ang kanyang X-factor sa masa, kamusta naman?" In the next fifteen weeks, ito ang pupunahin at ipa-polish ni Abbygale sa StarStruck V hopefuls. "I'm working on my syllabus," she reveals to us during our exclusive interview with the image consultant. Abbygale continues, "it's a fifteen week lecture, [and] I don't plan to put [the whole thing] as a lecture na marami. Ang gusto ko, activity-based." For example, she tells us na kung ang lessons nila ay on manners and dining etiquette, she plans on taking the contestants to a fine-dining restaurant para ma-practice 'yung formal dining set-up. Dagdag pa niya, "another thing for an artista, kailangan marunong silang mag-host somehow." Abbygale says she's already planning activities wherein they will either host, or conduct interviews with their fellow participants. "'Yung mga difficult questions, paano sasagutin using the proper body language? The proper movement? The proper eye contact? And then, 'yung pagsasalita. Isa rin ‘yun." She continues on to say na minsan, it's not what you answer to interviews but rather how you answer the questions that spell a successful or a failed interview. And unlike in previous batches, Abbygale says she's very happy that she's getting to spend the whole season with the kids. "Since may time ako, gusto ko gawing personality development. I'd like to see them na after 15 weeks, developed ang personality."
Abbygale confesses that she thinks this batch of StarStruck hopefuls are very lucky. "Imagine! The best of the best na 'to e. Kapag lumabas sila after nito, kahit sabihin nating 2 to 5 weeks lang natin sila nakasama dito, pero ang dami nang mai-input na knowledge. So napaka-suwerte ng mga ito." "Kahit gaano karami ang pera mo, mahirap pagsama-samahin itong mga best in their fields." Abbygale goes on to say na naiinggit nga raw siya. "Sabi ko nga, kung ako siguro 'yung bata, I would even eudition para maging [part ng] StarStruck—just to get the education na ino-offer ng StarStruck, 'di ba?" Abbygale even goes so far as to say that she thinks having the mentors stick around the whole season long is a very good idea. "Dati kasi, hindi masyadong tutok. This time, tututukan sila. stars"Ang trabaho ko is once a week; I'll meet up with them to check on their image, to check on their personality development—and then, 'yung ibang mentors, ganoon din." Tuloy niya, "so imagine: every week, may kasama kang expert on their field. After sixteen weeks, imposibleng wala kang makuha. So imagine mo 'yung growth na mangyayari sa mga bata. I mean, almost three months? In three months, I won't be surprised kung makakita tayo kaagad ng instant superstar. Kumbaga sa lulutuin, sobrang sarap pag natapos." And if televiewers think they won't get anything in this deal—nagkakamali sila. "'Yung mga mentors natin will be sharing a lot of things, hindi lang sa mga participants, pati sa mga televiewers [din]—they will be learning." Pero, siyempre, in the end it's still a show about the search for the next star. "Of course we'd like people to really, kumbaga, subaybayan 'yung pag-grow ng ating mga StarStruck contestants. It's going to be very exciting." Excited na ba kayong makilala ang Final 14 ng StarStruck V? Follow their dreams weekdays bago mag-Family Feud through ShoutOut: the StarStruck Dailies.
