After her stint at “Asia's Next Top Model” Cycle 6, the half English half Filipina model Adela Mae Marshall is officially part of the Kapuso network.
During her contract signing yesterday, April 3, GMANetwork.com was able to get an exclusive interview with the beauty where she shared her Top Model journey as well as her decision to move forward with her career.
During the interview, she recalls her stint in the hit reality tv show where she followed the footstep of Eat Bulaga! host Maureen Wroblewitz.
She says, “It was a dream of mine to join.
“I came in the cycle after the Philippines won so you know I was really pressured at the time. But I have my own journey to go on.
“It was a wonderful experience, it opened so many doors for me.”
When asked if she told Maureen about joining the said competition, she reminisced the story of how she told her manager to specifically not tell the winner that she plans to join Top Model.
“I didn't tell her [Maureen] that I was auditioning.
“I told my manager, 'Do not tell Maureen unless I get it. No one needs to know.'
“She only found out was when she was a guest on the show. And she was like, 'Adela!'
“It was really nice to be able to share and to talk to someone afterward who really understood.”
During her journey, the runner-up was also able to learn more about herself in the process.
“I found out that I was a lot calmer.
“And I felt like, my principles are really strong.
“In the sense that if I want to do well, I want to do well because everyone else is doing well. And that means that I was a really strong candidate.”
As she signs her contract, she felt as if this is only a natural transition from her modeling career.
“For me, I really had a great time in my modeling career but I feel like I'm at this stage to learn more about what I'm capable of.
“And I feel like show business, acting, and all that comes with it is the next step for me.
“Because I feel like they're beneficial to each other too. When I'm modeling, I'm acting I'm just not moving as much.”
And now that it's official, the model is willing to do anything that can test her skills and talent.
“If there's an opportunity. I want to take every opportunity that I can.
“I don't want to look back when I have my own kids or grandkids and be like, 'You know your mom could have been an actress'.
“I don't want to regret anything. I'm very game for anything.”
