Mercy Sunot on social media: “Pag-pray niyo ako guys, please.”
Mercy Sunot of the hit OPM rock band Aegis revealed on TikTok that she underwent a lung operation.
In a one-minute video, Mercy explained what happened to her lungs and added that she is currently in the intensive care unit.
“Tapos na 'yung surgery ko sa lungs, pero biglang nahirapan akong huminga, so dinala ako sa ICU,” the Aegis vocalist said.
She continued, “Tapos ngayon may tubig pala, may inflammation 'yung lungs ko, so ginagawan na nila ng paraan.”
“Pinag-steroids, pinainom sa akin ng doctor para sa inflammation. Pag-pray niyo ako guys, please. Pag-pray niyo ako na matatapos na 'tong pagsubok na 'to.”

Several fans reacted to Mercy's TikTok video and all are praying for her quick recovery.
Aegis rose to popularity in the '90s. They are behind the hit songs “Halik.” “Sayang na Sayang,” and “Luha.”
Aside from Mercy, the other members of the band are her siblings Juliet and Ken. Also part of Aegis are Stella Pabico, Rey Abenoja , Rowena Adriano , and Vilma Goloviogo.They celebrated their 25th anniversary with a concert at the Theatre in Solaire, Parañaque City in December 2023.
