Mari Jasmine: "Please open your hearts and minds and keep fighting to push for SOGIE equality to become a reality."
Model and TV personality Mari Jasmine married the man of her dreams, fashion retailer Michael Concepcion, in Sydney, Australia.
After tying the knot, Mari also took the opportunity to push for the rights of Pinoy LGBTQIA+ members, who are not given the rights to marry whom they love.
The British-Japanese model said in Instagram post, “It isn't lost on me that as I experience one of the most special days in my life, back in the Philippines there are so many who are not able to celebrate love in the way we just have. Many are barred from having the same legal rights as we are now granted, many are still not treated like equals and human beings.”
She added, “There are no words to describe how unfair it is that we reserve such happy moments and basic rights to a select group of people - it just doesn't make any sense. Even if you feel that it does not affect you directly, please open your hearts and minds and keep fighting to push for SOGIE equality to become a reality. Our world only becomes a better place with more diverse kinds of love.”
Mari Jasmine's Instagram post got inundated with many congratulatory messages from Pinoy celebrities including Kapuso actor Benjamin Alves, Iza Calzado, and host-social media influencer Raymond Gutierrez.

Prior to her marraige, Mari was in a relationship with Baka Bukas director Samantha Lee.
She also previously dated actor Sam Milby.
Mari is now pregnant with her first child.
