Last year was an emotional rollercoaster for Aiai delas Alas as she confirmed her separation from her husband, Gerald Sibayan, after 10 years together.
A year later, the Comedy Queen took to Instagram to open up once again about her heartbreak and how she still feels the lingering pain -- something she called “post-traumatic growth fatigue.”
“I realized that sometimes, the pain of heartbreak doesn't come all at once. Sometimes it arrives late--delayed, like a wave that suddenly hits you out of nowhere. There are days I feel genuinely happy, and others when sadness quietly slips in,” she shared.
Amid this deep emotional struggle, Aiai admitted that she has developed “little crushes,” saying she is only human, but she tries her best not to entertain those feelings.
She also talked about her mother, the woman who adopted and raised her, who never married because she was too focused on giving Aiai and her siblings a bright future.
“And she would always say, 'I don't like the feeling of love.' I now understand what that means,” she added.
Aiai revealed that she has been feeling sentimental, describing it as “something inside that I can't fully explain.”
“And I think maybe some of you feel this too. Maybe a lot of us do.. ito siya.. ang tawag pala sa kanya, post traumatic growth fatigue na you are trying to move on and do the right thing maybe even to prove to yourself or others that [you're okay] but sometimes after trauma, there's pressure to celebrate growth before we have fully healed, [and] when that celebration falls flat, it can leave you feeling worse,” she explained.
Aiai added, “Napaka-weird na pakiramdam.”
After realizing her thoughts, she shared that she planned to go out every day but eventually ended up feeling tired and just sleeping most of the time.
“'Yun lang ang share ko, siguro naramdaman nyo din 'to mga girls!!!!” she ended her lengthy post.
Aiai confirmed her separation from Gerald on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda on November 11, 2024.
"Sinabi niya na gusto niyang magkaanak and hindi na siya happy," she revealed when asked about the reason for their breakup.
